Recently repaired, a beautiful pristine Roland CR-78 belonging to someone well-known. This one was perfect in every way apart from three things; there was a wild screw rattling around inside, the sequence ROM (a 2708) needed reseating, and there was some tiny corrosion on one single track near the battery. These machines are notorious for battery electrolyte leakage, and it’s very common to see these with absolutely destroyed CPU boards.
It’s been repaired now, with a Kynar bridge, and with the damage stabilized. This still needs its original battery replaced, but it’s back to sounding exactly as it did when it was new! ?
